Who am I?
I'm Landon Burress, a Full-Stack Software Developer
I’ve always been fascinated by technology and the way computers shape nearly every part of modern life. I’ve worked professionally in software development since 2016, though my passion for programming started long before that. Creativity and building new things have always been central to who I am, and I see programming as one of the most versatile and impactful forms of creative expression. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with small businesses and startup teams, helping turn ideas into practical, scalable software solutions. That experience has introduced me to inspiring people and a wide range of technologies across industries. From neurotechnology and embedded systems to game development and large-scale SaaS platforms, I enjoy learning new technologies, solving complex problems, and building tools that make a real impact.

Portfolio
Here are just a few of my projects
BCIWiki
A MediaWiki website focused on the topic of brain-computer interfaces
Website | GitHub | Pitch Video
Website Tracker
A web crawler/analytics tool and an example full-stack web application built in Next.js
Website | GitHub 1 | GitHub 2 | Medium
awesome-bci
Open-source project started by the non-profit NeuroTechX. I act as one of the primary maintainers for this informational resource.
NeuroShortcut
An EEG based brain-computer interface tool for triggering keyboard shortcuts, system commands, and macro scripts by changing mental states. Made using Brainflow and an Ultracortex Mark IV EEG Headset.
Web Scraping Projects
Over the years, I’ve built data extraction scripts and custom web crawlers designed to collect and analyze information from online sources, including systems that explore randomly generated IPv4 addresses and domain names.
- RandIP - A command line tool and one of my first C++ programs that generates a random ip address
- DeviantDevil - A web scraping script for finding Creative Commons licensed art on deviantart
- WordPress-Crawler - A web crawler script for creating a list of domains running wordpress
- Spider-Dork - A web crawler script for finding web servers from random ip ranges and searching for strings on them
Cybersecurity Projects
Computer security has been a long-standing area of interest for me. Over the years, I’ve explored topics ranging from Kali Linux tooling and network analysis to CTF-style wargames such as OverTheWire and Smash The Stack, which have inspired projects including network testing utilities and malware proof-of-concepts.
- simple-telnet-honeypot - A Python script that listens on a socket for and records telnet login attempts
- grabby - A simple data exfiltration tool for some common windows applications written in Rust
- sqlite-discover - A command-line tool for finding SQLite database files
Application Automation Projects
I’ve built a variety of automation tools using interprocess communication techniques such as shell scripting, TCP socket communication, API integrations, and Windows Component Object Model (COM) automation to streamline repetitive workflows and coordinate interactions between applications.
- photoshop-automation - A tool for automating data entry into Photoshop image templates using the pywin32 library
- Twitter Scripts - A collection of Python scripts that utilize the Twitter API through Tweepy
- Teamspeak3 Chat Filter - A command line script for reversing chat messages before they're sent on Teamspeak
Game Dev Projects
Game development and 3D modeling are areas I’ve been exploring more deeply in recent years, with projects focused on interactive systems, graphics programming, and creating assets and environments for real-time applications.
- Unity - I've completed the Unity Essentials Learning Pathway and will soon complete the Junior Programmer Pathway. As a part of those online courses, I've created these two projects published online: Key Runner & Cookie Catcher.
- Blender Scripts - Scripts made for generating 3D models in Blender using the bpy library
- Godot - I've used Godot for making both 2D and 3D game prototypes.
- Phaser Demo - A Phaser js game engine demo
- SDL Tutorial - Test files created while following this C++ SDL tutorial
Current Projects
Recently, I've been spending my free time learning about AWS services for deploying Next.js applications, trying to implement a 3D reconstruction technique called Gassian Splatting, and continuing to learn about the Unity Scripting API for making more complex 3D experiences.
